Are you a foreign student and do you live in Ghent?
Then you should use this form to register at het Loket Internationale Studenten. The date of this online registration replaces your first personal registration with the city.
Do not use this form if:
- you do not yet have a definite address in Ghent where you will stay for at least 1 month
- you have a definite address, but you are not yet living at this address. Only use this form after you have moved. If you have a visa type D, there will be no consequences when your registration with the city is later than the 8 days mentioned on your visa.
- you already have a student residence card and want to renew it for the next academic year
- you are only registered in a foreign educational institution
- you are a researcher or other staff member of a Belgian educational institution. You can find more information about your first registration as a non-student here.
ATTENTION: if you are a student-researcher with hosting agreement and receive a salary and work more than 20 hours a week , you are not regarded as a student, but as a labor migrant and cannot use this form.
