You are a foreign student, you live in Ghent, you already have a residence permit as a student and you want to extend your student residence permit? Then you can use this form.

Before you start filling in the form, read the information about extending your stay on this page. This allows you to collect the necessary documents in advance.

Attention! Apply for the extension on time. If any documents are missing from your application, you will receive an email to complete your application within 15 days. Late or incomplete applications will result in a loss of your legal stay.

Attention! We cannot read HEIC files. Please submit your documents as PDF or JPEG files.

Students subject to quarantine measures upon entry in Belgium should register themselves by using the e-form. After the expiry of the quarantine, the local police officer will come by for the address check. At the ‘remarks’ field, when filling out your address, you should mention your date of entry and the expiry date of the quarantine. Keep in mind: if your legal stay is about to expire during the quarantine period, please take contact with Infopunt Migratie – Migration Information Center.
